giant5

I already start to feel sleepy just looking at this giant and think it might be nice to zone out for a bit along with them. Zzz ...
Hey, wake up!! It is so contagious.
This giant is not the normal sleepiness or exhaustion that sweeps over us when the mind or body are tired. If you are worn out you may need to take time to rest up or make lifestyle changes. This giant is far far worse! This giants sinks into and perpetuates spiritual sleep to make us forget all about our life's purpose and priorities. This giant will inevitably water down personal convictions, wholehearted commitments and sincere declarations of faith until they are almost so weak and pathetic that you don't even know why you made them in the first place.

There is no space for this lazy giant in my mind. I have a high and holy calling. I know my faith will be tested. I am always awake and alive to God in my Spirit and this gives me the power I need. I rejoice with joy inexpressible because I know the everlasting results of the life I have chosen.
'I once walked by the field and the vineyard of a lazy fool. Thorns and weeds were everywhere, and the stone wall had fallen down. When I saw this, it taught me a lesson: Sleep a little. Doze a little. Fold your hands and twiddle your thumbs. Suddenly poverty hits you and everything is gone!'
Proverbs 24:30-34
'This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.'
Ephesians 5:14-17 NIV
'Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”'
Luke 9:62 NIV
'Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
